platform

unexciting interface, but should run on any 32 bit windows platform
such as Windows
98, NT4, Me, 2000 or
XP (but not Windows
95). There is no actual limit to the input file size, although the current version is released with a hard coded 50,000 entry limit. If required, a new version can be released with this figure increased. BLScanPlusPro makes use of the new Microsoft .NET Framework 2. If you regularly use the Microsoft windows update service, you may already have this. You can tell by pressing Start, open the Control Panel and then open Add or Remove Programs, scroll down the list and look for the presence of items called "Microsoft .NET Framework 2". If this is not present, you can get it from the Microsoft site, plus any available language and service packs. More information on this is given on the download page including the required links. The .NET Framework is to become the standard platform under which many new programs will be developed. So if you do not currently have it, you will need it sooner or later. If you use Windows 95 or do not want to install the .NET Framework then maybe BLScanPlus "Classic" is a better option for you. |

Welcome
BLScanPlus "Pro" is now installed on your computer, BEFORE you start using it, please read the following notes... Using BLScanPlus A shortcut has been placed onto your desktop, the "BLScanPlusPro" icon will start the program. Two folders have been created; BLScanPlusPro - The "Product" Folder. - Contains the program/installation folder. - Contains the un-install program and un-install data file. BLScanPlusPro\Program - The "Program" or "Installation" Folder. - Contains the BLScanPlus program. This is the work area for BLScanPlus. Throughout the documentation for BLScanPlus, references are made to the BLScanPlus folder, this is the Program (or Installation) folder shown above. Any input files read by BLScanPlus or created by BLScanPlus will be normally be held in that folder (e.g. this is typically C:\Program Files\BLScanPlusPro\Program). The first time BLScanPlus is run, it will generate a new folder called "BLScanBackup", this folder will contain your backup files and various files containing settings and history information. Do not delete this folder as you will also delete any settings that you may have chosen when running the BLScanPlus utilities. There is no harm in purging this folder of unwanted backup files from time to time. It is recommended that files are not copied from or to the Mailwasher Application Data folder while Mailwasher is running. BLScanPlus has various settings that can be controlled from the "Settings" menu option. You should setup these options first (but this is not essential as all the utilities will assume default values). I hope that BLScanPlus proves to be a useful set of utilities to compliment your usage of Mailwasher. Check the web site every once in a while for news on updates for BLScanPlus. Thank you for using BLScanPlus. Pat Mann, Southampton, UK Installation Issues BLScanPlus does not assume any particular installation location, but moving the program files around or renaming the Product/Program folder after installation may prevent BLScanPlus from working correctly. The most likely cause is that the desktop shortcut "Target" field becomes invalid. Either correct the Target to the new program folder path, or re-create the desktop shortcut. Terms & Conditions BLScanPlus (including BLScan, BLComp, BLJoin, BLConv, Totter and UnRotter) is a privately developed software utility and is not supplied with any form of guarantee, warranty or commitment of future support. This utility is made available from www.dogsbyte.com only. This utility is used entirely at your risk, the author has no responsibility, liability or accountability for any loss or damage that may be incurred as a consequence of its usage, either as a standalone utility or when used in conjunction with any other software. Blacklist entries are used by Mailwasher to filter incoming email and (depending on Mailwasher settings) incoming email may be automatically hidden and/or deleted. Using a wildcard within a blacklist entry will result in any incoming email that meets that blacklist criteria being treated as originating from a blacklisted source. It is the users responsibility to ensure that wildcards are used appropriately to avoid loss or concealment of legitimate email. BLScanPlus relies on the file formats used by Mailwasher for correct operation. These formats are not under the control of the author and are subject to change without notice, which may in turn impact the functionality available using BLScanPlus. Under these circumstances the author will make best efforts to ensure the products integrity, but no guarantee, warranty or commitment of future support is made for BLScanPlus operating with revised file formats is implied, this risk is accepted by the user and any donations made for BLScanPlus are not refundable under this circumstance. This utility can be removed from your computer by deleting the BLScanBackup folder (after moving/copying any useful files out of it) and then using the UnInstall icon present in the Product Folder. You agree not to copy, redistribute or resell this software. BLScan, BLComp, BLJoin, BLConv, Totter and the BLScanPlus framework is protected by international copyright law. By downloading and using this utility, you accept these conditions of usage. |

| Uninstalling | |||||
| To
uninstall BLScanPlus, navigate to the BLScanPlus product folder (if you
used the default install location, this will be at C:\Program
Files\BLScanPlusPro) double click the Uninstall.exe icon. This will
remove
the program related files, desktop icon etc. Note: Although the uninstaller will remove the program, it will not delete the BLScanPlus product/program folders if there are files present (that you created). So if these folders are not deleted, check the contents, move/copy any useful files elsewhere and then delete the BLScanPlusPro product folder. |
