BLJoin allows two
blacklist files to be merged into one file, eliminating any duplication. BLJoin is an option within BLScanPlus. This page documents the BLJoin utility and it makes no difference whether you're using the Classic or Pro version of BLScanPlus unless otherwise specified. |

| BLJoin requires two
blacklist files for input. A blacklist file
contains
a blacklist section and a whitelist section, each has a list
of email
addresses that represents pests or friends respectively. BLJoin will
merge the blacklist sections and/or the whitelist sections of the two
input files. In either case the content of the first file is taken as
the foundation and the second file is searched for any unique entries
not present in the first. The unique entries from the second file are
added to the first. An output file will be created; |

There is a slight difference between BLScanPlus V2 Classic and V3 Pro with respect to BLJoin. In the Classic version, when two duplicate addresses are found, the entry from the first file is used in the output file. For the Pro version, the two entries are compared and the entry with the newest date is written to the output file. This was a small enhancement made for the Pro version that did not warrant a full update of the Classic version. The output file can be used to replace your existing blacklist file, that is present in the Mailwasher folder. The location of the Mailwasher folder can be found by clicking on the Mailwasher Help->About menu. Ensure Mailwasher is not running when copying files into this folder otherwise Mailwasher will overwrite your file when it is closed. |
